Vouchr is a multi-vendor coupon marketplace where brands publish deals and affiliate publishers earn commissions on redemptions. A lightweight validation API handles coupon verification directly in vendor checkout flows.

The Problem

Coupon aggregators were opaque, slow to update, and took too large a cut. Vendors had no reliable way to track which affiliate drove a redemption. Publishers had no single dashboard for all their affiliate deals.

What We Built

A two-sided marketplace with a vendor self-service portal, a consumer browse experience backed by Meilisearch, UTM-based affiliate attribution, and a Redis-backed validation API that responds in under 50ms.

How we built it

Week 1

Vendor + store onboarding

Built the multi-vendor data model with vendor profiles, store pages, and coupon category taxonomy. Vendors self-onboard via a guided setup wizard with logo upload and payout details.

Week 2

Coupon creation + validation engine

Built the coupon builder: percentage/fixed discount, minimum cart value, usage limits, and expiry rules. Core validation logic runs as a stateless microservice callable by vendor checkout integrations.

Consumer discovery + search

Built the public coupon browse page with category filters, vendor search, and expiry-sorted feeds. Implemented full-text search with Meilisearch for sub-50ms coupon lookup.

Added UTM-based affiliate link generation per coupon with click/redemption attribution. Built the commission calculation engine distributing vendor revenue shares to affiliate publishers.
